Andrew McCain

Andrew practices criminal defense, specifically in all criminal traffic matters.

Andrew honed his legal skills through more than sixty-five jury trials over more than a decade as a prosecutor. He understands how prosecutors think and how to communicate with them effectively, how to build a strong case and how to exploit the weaknesses in the other side.

Andrew’s thorough knowledge of criminal law led to multiple professional associations tapping him to train other attorneys, including the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association, the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, and the Florida Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor Program. He lectures on an expanding array of topics: sentencing, probation violations, evidence, driver’s license issues, and DUIs. While with the State, Andrew annually joined other top prosecutors to train new assistant state attorneys from around Florida. He also has lectured alongside the state’s preeminent authorities on DUI cases.

Andrew values community service and civic engagement, serving as President of the Young Lawyers Division of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, director-at-large of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, and a member of the Gerald T. Bennett Inn of Court. He previously served for three years on the Eighth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee B.

Andrew graduated summa cum laude near the top of his class from the Florida State University College of Law in 2013, earning awards for academic excellence in seven different courses.

Despite his time at FSU, Andrew bleeds orange and blue from his time at the University of Florida. In just four years he earned two degrees at UF: a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (summa cum laude) and a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Philosophy (cum laude) in 2010.

Andrew enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife and their two dogs, running, composing music, and playing video and tabletop role-playing games.
